Early days of computer software
Computer
scientist Tom Kilburn is the first writer of a program in the world, that was at
the University of Manchester in England on
June 21, 1948. Kilburn and his colleague Freddie Williams have
built one of the oldest computers, the Small-Scale Experimental Machine (also called the baby) [1] "SSEM was programmed to perform mathematical calculations using machine code
instructions"[1].
